The Club at North Creek

The Fall 2007-2008 Golf Classic be held on Saturday, Oct. 13th, 2007 at the North Creek Golf Club.The Club at North Creek is the sister course of Big Creek Golf Club where we have held the past few events. North Creek is a great course and the staff and owners of the two clubs have been extremely gracious over the past few years in hosting the event. The entry fee for the tournament will be $50/player. With entry, each participant will receive a goodie bag of great SBA and golf merchandise, lunch, and drinks (both alcoholic and non). At check in, players will be allowed to purchase mulligans and shots from the ladies' tees. The event will begin with a shotgun start and various holes on the course will be designated as "specialty holes." Specialty holes will include such designations as "closest to the hole" or "longest drive." The winner of each will be awarded a prize following the tournament. In addition to golf related prizes, the SBA will also conduct a raffel following the event with a number of great prizes.

Fall Golf Tournament @ Big Creek

The Fall 2006 Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at the Big Creek Golf Club.

Players should arrive at noon to check in and warm up. Tee time will be at 1pm.

The Big Creek Golf Course is the sister course of the Club at North Creek where we held the event last Spring. Big Creek is a great course and the staff and owners of the two clubs have been extremely gracious over the past few years in hosting the event. The entry fee for the tournament will be $60/player. This fee includes greens fees, a cart, and free range balls. Also, each participant will receive a goodie bag of great SBA and golf merchandise, lunch, and drinks (both alcoholic and non). At check in, players will be allowed to purchase mulligans for $10 and shots from the ladies' tees for $15.

The event will begin with a shotgun start and various holes on the course will be designated as "specialty holes." Specialty holes will include such designations as "closest to the hole" and "longest drive." The winner of each will be awarded a prize following the tournament.

Sign-up sheets will be posted on the SBA BUlletin Board in the lunchroom. Please feel free to sign up even if you don't have a full team of four.

The Club at Big Creek is one of the best-kept secrets in Memphis-area golf. This secluded 18-hole course underwent a major renovation in 1999 and still maintains its quiet, wooded surroundings.

SBA Golf Tournament

Every year the Student Bar Association sponsors a bi-annual golf tournament to bring students, faculty and members of the legal community together in an informal setting allowing participants to interact, socialize and network. The proceeds of the event go to various charities such as Hurricane Katrina Relief or Children's Miracle Network. The event consists of as many four person teams that enter. In addition to each participant receiving a goodie bag full of great golf items and SBA merchandise, lunch and drinks are provided to each team member and prizes are awarded following the event.

In the past, professors, administrators, and local attorneys have all come out to participate in the event, making the golf tournament one of the most anticipated events each semester. The event is a great opportunity for students and faculty alike to come together for a great cause as well as socialize and have a good time outside the classroom. Bring your friends and family, and come show your support for the law school and the chosen charity.

Each year this event proves to be a great success and helps out a great cause.
